The staff of Rogers House Residential Care Home in Wigmore ensured their residents enjoyed a very special Christmas Day, complete with all the festive trimmings.
Christmas spirit was certainly in the air as the committed team of staff spent the day in their festive headgear, giving residents of the Drewery Drive home a Christmas to remember. Some staff even chose to wear elf outfits for the occasion!
With the dining room decorated especially for the occasion, with the finest tablecloths, crackers and floral centrepieces on display, residents and their guests enjoyed a traditional turkey lunch, with all the trimmings, alongside a celebratory glass of sherry and followed by a homemade Christmas pudding, of course.
Playing Santa, staff also handed out gifts to each resident, chosen by those who know them best, everyone received something thoughtful and no one was missed. Just like any other family Christmas, residents enjoy some fun and games before settling down for the Queen’s Speech and a customary Christmas nap.
Jackie Miles, Home Manager of Rogers House said: “We have a great team of staff here who are very dedicated to ensuring Christmas Day is special for our residents. Despite working over the festive period, they are jolly and really get into the spirit of Christmas for the residents. We are just like one big family here really!”
