Summer may seem like a distant memory now, but that didn’t stop residents of Barnes Lodge Residential Care Home from sprucing up their garden.
Armed with their pots and compost, the group of green fingered residents spent a sunny afternoon on the dining room balcony, potting some new plants and flowers for the home’s garden.
Keen to utilise their years of gardening skills, the residents got stuck into the job at hand, potting the plants perfectly, before displaying them in the garden.
Nicky Pett, General Manager of Barnes Lodge said: “Many of our residents used to really enjoy gardening when they lived in their own homes, so it is lovely that as we have lots of wonderful outside space here at Barnes Lodge, they can continue to do that when moving in with us. This is their home, after all.
“Whether they like to tend to the chickens, pot some plants or just enjoy looking at the garden from the balconies, the outdoor space provides a real calmness and a lot of enjoyment for them.”
