There was plenty of singing, clapping and foot tapping as people living at Stocks Hall Care Home, St Helens enjoyed a trip to the Palace Theatre in Manchester to watch the feel-good extravaganza, Flashdance The Musical.
The ladies and gentlemen who attended the show, were transported back to the 1980’s, for this high energy, high tempo – movie turned musical.
Flashdance tells the story of the inspiring and unforgettable story of Alex (played by Strictly Come Dancing star, Joanne Clifton), a determined welder who dreams of becoming a professional dancer.
Maureen, photographed with her programme, says “The final scene of the first half is a spectacular moment, it was breathtaking to watch.”
Tricky choreography and memorable music, with classic songs from the era, including Maniac, Gloria, I Love Rock and Roll and the brilliant What a Feeling, effortlessly made this one of the best shows the group had ever seen.
Laura Coghlan-Adam, Activities Staff at the Home, says “The cast, the music, the 80’s vibe – this thoroughly entertaining, energetic show lifted the spirits of the whole group, a wonderful feeling we all enjoyed together.”
