A west London care centre is to give local carers the opportunity to share their feelings and get useful advice from a newly created carers group.

Due to be held at Drayton Village Care Centre in Spring Promenade, West Drayton the free meeting held on the last Friday of every month will give carers a chance to meet with like-minded people and hear from guest speakers, while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee.

Starting on 26 January 2018, each two-hour event will begin at 2pm and is open to external carers.

Matthew Bowden, Care Manager at Drayton Village Care Centre, said: “People who look after loved ones work tirelessly to ensure all their needs are met, but sometimes they neglect to look after their own needs, including getting out and socialising.

“We hope our new carers support group is able to provide this to them, whilst also keeping them informed of new developments that might be useful to them and the people they look after.

“We hope that lots of carers take this opportunity to join us, so that they can learn more about the world of care from our team.”
