Abbotswood Court Care Home has hosted The Mountbatten School’s Business Patrons’ Club, enabling the school to continue building its relationships with local businesses.
Respected local figures recently gathered at Abbotswood Court Care Home in Romsey for The Mountbatten School’s Business Patrons’ Club. The Club is a pivotal group ensuring strong links with businesses. Through these relationships, the school can provide students with access to skill-sets from industry experts, and work experience opportunities not typically available in a school setting. At the recent Business Patrons’ Club, members met to further strengthen these links and discuss the opportunities to engage with local businesses.
Abbotswood Court is a part of The Mountbatten School’s Business Patrons’ Club along with representatives from local authorities such as Cllr. Roy Perry, Leader of Hampshire County Council, Mary Greggains, Committee Member of Romsey Chamber, and Wayne Palmer, Managing Director of Thinking Space.
Debbie Holmes, Abbotswood Court Homes Admission Advisor, said:
“Abbotswood Court is passionate about supporting people in all stages of life. As members of The Mountbatten School’s Business Patrons’ Club, we are keen to offer all the help we can in creating links between the school and local companies. This is our way of trying to help address the nationwide skills shortage and give local students the skills for a brighter future. We were honoured to host the recent meeting which is just one small way we can lend a helping hand.”
Heather Mcllroy, Executive Headteacher of The Mountbatten School, said:
“We are very grateful to Abbotswood Court for hosting our Business Patrons’ Club. It is with thanks to our Patrons that we are continuing to secure great connections with leading local businesses, and building relationships which enable our students to learn valuable skills in preparation for the world of work.”
