Larchwood Care is celebrating after raising more than £2200 for Macmillan as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign.

The homes held a number of events across the UK, including cake stalls, bake offs, entertainers and visitors from local community groups.

Larchwood care has residential and day-care facilities across the UK, and provides specialist nursing and dementia care for older people. All of its homes are regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The Macmillan Coffee Morning is an annual fundraising event, launched in 1990. Groups are encouraged to host an event to engage with their friends or local community, and raise money to help Macmillan’s ongoing work with people living with cancer and their families.

Alison Boote, Operations Director for Larchwood Care, said: “I am incredibly proud of all the homes that participated in the Macmillan Coffee Morning events this year. Larchwood Care has raised a significant amount for a fantastic charity that helps thousands of people in the UK.

“Events that bring our residents together with the local community to raise money for a good cause always have a positive impact on them, as they have a great time and enjoy giving something back. Macmillan is a charity close to the hearts of a number of residents and members of staff, and we are delighted to be able to make a contribution towards the outstanding work they do.”

Robert Moon, Head of Regional Fundraising, Macmillan Cancer Support , said: “Every coffee slurped, cake served and conversation shared will help Macmillan continue to provide emotional, financial, medical and practical support to people affected by cancer. By supporting the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning everyone at Larchwood Care is helping someone who has been diagnosed or affected by cancer.

“We’d like to thank everyone in Larchwood Care for their continued support.”

Larchwood Care and is managed by Healthcare Management Solutions and cares for more than 2000 older people across the UK.
