Ashley Gardens Care Home in Maidstone has held a very special event to mark 10 years of providing high quality care in the town. On Friday 29th September, a party was held to mark a decade since the home opened, and to thank and recognise members of staff for their long service.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Maidstone, Cllr Malcolm Greer and Mrs Brenda Greer attended to present the awards, along with Healthcare Homes’ Chief Executive Officer, Gordon Cochrane. Staff, visitors and residents enjoyed a fun afternoon of celebrating, including a buffet lunch, afternoon tea, party games and an ice cream machine!
A number of staff were recognised for long service at the home, having all joined in 2007, including:
Jo Mazza – Home Manager
Linda Laing – Senior Night Carer
Amy Dinnage – Senior Carer
Heather Reed – Senior Carer
Maria Bozic – Night Carer
Elaine Webster – Suite Manager
Elaine Hunt – Laundry Assistant
Jo Mazza, Manager of Ashley Gardens said, “It has been wonderful to host such a special celebration for the home. It has meant a lot to me to mark the occasion, having worked at Ashley Gardens since it opened in 2007.
“Over the past 10 years I have seen a lot of changes in the home and in the care industry as a whole, but what has remained consistent throughout that time is our continuous passion for providing the best possible care for our residents and for creating a place that they can truly call their home. This is only achieved through the hard work and dedication of our staff and it has been wonderful to publically thank them for their continued commitment.”
Having opened in 2007, the home has steadily grown to provide care for more people and today specialises in delivering innovative, person-centred care for residents with a variety of needs. It has received high praise from the industry regulator, the CQC, which rated the home ‘good’ overall and ‘outstanding’ for the responsiveness of the team.
