Award-winning care provider, Hallmark Care Homes have launched a new company-wide event for their 1000 residents and relatives called Family Portrait Fortnight!
The event which recently took place throughout all 16 Hallmark Care Homes was created to help build relationships between residents and their loved ones as well as residents, relatives and the care home team.
On a designated day, each residential, nursing and dementia home had a professional photographer visit to take portrait photographs of residents and their visitors or the care team which were then theirs to keep.
Each individual event was supported by the homes lifestyles team, who arranged some additional activities to take place during their Family Portrait Fortnight celebrations. This included; professional entertainment, bubbly and access to each homes’ hairdressing and therapy facilities so that residents can have their hair and nails done and feel special in advance of having their picture taken.
Hallmark Care Homes Group Lifestyle’s Manager, Debbie Sharples-Kirkbride MBE said: “Family Portrait Fortnight has been a great addition to the Hallmark Care Homes calendar of events and it has been extremely well received by the residents and their relatives.
“The purpose of Family Portrait Fortnight was to create a lasting memory for residents and their loved ones. As you get older, less photographs are taken. Family Portrait Fortnight created a sense of occasion and brought generations of families together to take advantage of the opportunity so that they have a professional photograph they can keep, be proud of and show to others.”
