Bake off Fever Hits Canterbury Care Home

Plenty of tasty tea and cake was on the menu this week for Connors House Residential Care Home residents, as they enjoyed an alfresco afternoon tea party.

Clearly excited for the return of the Great British Bake Off, residents of the Craddock Road residential care home were treated to an afternoon tea party, in the home’s garden.

Despite it not being very sunny at all, the weather was warm enough, so the parasols went up and the hungry residents headed out to the garden, excited for an afternoon of yummy treats and nattering with one another.

Served up by staff, the residents were treated to a delicious array of sandwiches, scones and cakes, all freshly prepared by the kitchen staff. Of course, their abundance of tasty treats were washed down with plenty of cups of tea!

Christine Devlin, home manager of Connors House commented: “Here at Connors House, we realise that it’s often the little things that we look forward to and that can easily brighten up our day. For that reason, as well as the more adventurous activities, we put lots of emphasis on the small day to day things too, and what could be nicer than relaxing in the garden with tea and cake, whilst catching up with friends? The residents had a lovely afternoon and are already looking forward to their next alfresco tea!”
