Sprinkles of fairy dust were spread around Overbury House residential home in Wroxham earlier this month. The fairy themed summer tea party was an absolute spectacle; a special thanks goes to activities co-ordinator Elaine for arranging such a magical afternoon for everyone.
Overbury House provides residential and respite care to the elderly, including those living with dementia. It holds regular events and invites the local community to join in. The fairy-themed high tea proved very popular with families bringing their children to join in the magical afternoon.
Over £250 has so far been raised from the afternoon, and money is still coming in following a raffle. The money will go towards Overbury House’s residents fund and also the Alzheimer’s Society.
Gerard Dooley, manager of Overbury House said: “The garden looked a delight, staff made such efforts with their costumes, fairy stilt walkers glided through the garden, music played, ‘name the Overbury unicorn’ game, arts and crafts and so much more. Residents and visitors had a truly delightful afternoon.
I of course joined in with the dressing up in the spirit of the day, much to everyone’s amusement, but it was worth it to see everyone having such fun. Thanks to everyone who joined in and also donated – it was truly magical!”
