The residential and nursing care home in Hasland, Chesterfield put on a swinging garden party for residents, relatives and members of the local community to celebrate life at The Green, 25 years on. Friends and staff, old and new, came together to share memories about the life and times of The Green. Many brought old photos and shared funny stories.
Everyone was dressed up in their best glad rags and enjoyed an afternoon of fun and singing, with entertainment provided by Tanya Adele. Tanya performed all the oldies from the 40’s to the 70’s and got everyone singing along.
Eluned Innes, Home Manager at The Green said: “It’s been such a great afternoon and wonderful to catch up with old friends. The residents have really enjoyed it too. Even the sun came out!”
Deepak Jaiswal, Home Proprietor commented: “I can’t believe The Green is 25 years old. I was 14 when my parents built and opened The Green and I can remember helping out for the opening.”
He continued: “The Green is a great place to live and work. Many of the staff here, have been with us for over 15 years, some of them much longer! Eluned, our Home Manager will have been with The Green for 25 years in January, having originally joined us as a nurse. The excellent reputation of the home is certainly down to Eluned and her amazing care team. Eluned has a strong, committed team who are dedicated to helping the residents to live full, active and independent lives. I would like to thank them all for their continued support and hard work.”
After all the singing, chatting and speeches, residents and guests enjoyed a hearty BBQ, which was definitely a hit! Especially the hot dogs!
