Calum Gray, Managing Director of Eastleigh based home care company, Caremark (Winchester & Eastleigh) swapped his business planning for a bucket and sponge when he organised a charity car wash, raising money for the Southampton branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.
Car drivers were encouraged to park up for a personalized clean-up, courtesy of Calum and his Care Manager, Chris Whatley in exchange for a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society and some “cake while you wait”.
Whilst Calum and Chris got busy with their sponges, drivers were able to sample some home-made cake freshly baked by members of Calum’s team, washed down with a cuppa.
With the Caremark office situated on a busy junction, passers-by were easily able to spot the hard working duo and encouraged to stop off and take advantage of the charity car wash.
Reflecting on the day Calum said: “The Great Caremark Carwash Cake’n Cuppa proved a roaring success.
“Carers and clients alike pulled together to ensure that a significant donation was raised for the Alzheimer’s Society.”
The money raised from a few hours work was certainly no wash-out! The Caremark team sent off a cheque for £100 to the Alzheimer’s Society.
“My thanks to everyone who contributed to this fantastic, fun event!” Calum added.
