CMG achieves third outstanding CQC rating

Staff and service users at Care Management Group (CMG) are celebrating after they received their third ‘Outstanding’ rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for their Avenue Road service in South Norwood.

Avenue Road joins their Kings Road service in Hampshire and Ridgeway service in Essex in receiving the rating.

CMG, a leading provider of residential care, supported living services and domiciliary care for people with learning disabilities, can now celebrate having 80 services across the country rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’, with the vast majority receiving the ‘good’ rating across all five inspection areas.

These ratings put CMG’s services well ahead of the national average. A spokesperson for CMG said that the organisation is ‘far from complacent’ however and that they are continuing to ‘strive to further improve CMG’s services across England.’

CMG has worked for over two decades to support individuals with particularly complex needs, including those with autistic spectrum conditions, mental health needs, and profound and multiple learning difficulties. It is often at the forefront of national best practice in the sector.  CMG was one of the leading national providers responsible for developing the Driving Up Quality Code, which was praised by then Care Minister, Norman Lamb, for making a real difference to ensuring high quality learning disability care provision across the country.

The organisation’s recent achievements confirm their position as a leading player in providing specialist care services and their determination to drive up standards across the sector.

Pam Hirsch, Manager at the Avenue Road service, said:

“Our achievement here at Avenue Road wouldn’t be possible without the loyalty and responsiveness of the whole care team. The team is a very diverse group from a wide range of backgrounds who are all dedicated to providing high-quality care for its service users. The whole team do not think twice about going the extra mile for the individuals we support and they deserve much credit for this achievement.”

Ula Peazold, Regional Director at CMG, said:

“Having a manager in place who has a consistent, fair, competent and supportive approach to her staff has almost certainly contributed to the success of the service we provide. Pam ensures outstanding communication with families, service users and external professionals and has an extremely good eye for detail and understanding CQC requirements.”

Peter Kinsey, Chief Executive of CMG, added:

“This is another fantastic result for CMG and is testament to the incredible determination of the whole team at Avenue Road to provide a high-quality service. The dedication of the care team at Avenue Road creates an extremely positive atmosphere for staff and service users alike and has made a significant contribution towards this great achievement for the organisation.”
