Residents of Connors House Care Home in Canterbury grabbed a slice of the action on National Pizza Day, and spent a morning making their own tasty pizzas from scratch.
Residents of Connors House Care Home in Canterbury celebrated National Pizza Day on Thursday 9th February, by pulling on their oven gloves and making their own pizzas from scratch.
The residents got together in the dining room at the Craddock Road care home, to roll out their dough, spread the tomato puree and scatter their pizzas with their favourite delicious toppings.
Once they were happy with their pizzas and choice of toppings, staff whisked them away and put them in the oven for them, before the residents enjoyed tucking into their creations.
Bev Furr, activity coordinator at Connors House commented: “The residents had a great morning creating their own pizzas, cooking activities always go down very well with the residents, as they can not only enjoy making the treats, they can enjoy eating them too!
“A couple of the residents who got involved with the activity also used to be bakers, so they loved reminiscing about their younger days and showing the others their skills.”
