Caremark paddles for charity!

IMG_5008Grey skies and heavy rain did not dampen the spirits of the ‘SS Caremark’ team of paddlers who were amongst a number of businesses taking part in the Great Sussex Bath Race earlier in June.

The annual event sees a number of companies across Sussex joining in the hilarious raft-racing fundraising event, paddling unwieldy rafts across a beautiful private lake all in the name of charity.

Heats are fought and won with three memorable awards up for grabs at the end of the day, and each marble trophy being adorned with a large tap!

Benefitting from all this fun and tomfoolery are two Sussex charities:  LifeCentre and Chestnut Tree House.

Chestnut Tree House is the only children’s hospice in Sussex and cares for children and young adults from 0-25 years of age with progressive life-limiting conditions from Sussex and South East Hampshire.

LifeCentre is the only charity in West Sussex specialising in supporting men, women and child survivors of sexual abuse and rape, their supporters and families.

This is the fourth year Caremark has entered this very popular event and the home care provider is proud to have clinched two of the 3 awards in the preceeding years!

Sponsorship is still coming in for the brave Caremark sailors and so far the funds raised are looking promising.  The Caremark team held other fundraising events at the company’s  head office in Worthing, pushing the total up to an expected £1000 in sponsorship for the two Sussex charities.
