Bluebird Care Exeter, an award winning home care provider hosted their annual customer Christmas lunch on Monday 21st December 2015.
Customers enjoyed a three course meal, prepared and served by the agency’s passionate office team and were entertained whilst they ate by a local choir singing traditional Christmas carols.
Bluebird Care Exeter invited their customers to bring along family, loved ones and friends with them to the lunch, creating a fun and festive atmosphere with everyone joining in and chatting together.
The home care provider host the Christmas Lunch to help combat the feelings of isolation and loneliness that many people feel at Christmas.
Jacqueline Fyall, Business Leader (Registered Manager) at Bluebird Care Exeter said “We wanted to put on a relaxed, fun and welcoming day for our customers, where they could come and enjoy a turkey lunch with loved ones or by themselves. It was so lovely to see them chatting amongst themselves, I even think a few new friendships have been formed!”
The day included a charity raffle which raised over £70 for AgeUK Exeter for their “Noone” campaign.
Customers also enjoyed a few games of Bingo, called out by Senior Care Coordinator Nicola Stacey. Nicola said it was great to meet the customers she coordinates care visits for, to put faces to names but also get to know them, as a person a little better. “I enjoyed speaking with Mrs B who told me she used to be a teacher and how much she misses it each day. I shared with her a few funny stories of my school days – many of which she could relate to!”
