The partygoers were treated to a delicious dinner of pie and peas, which was finished off with a selection of cakes for guests with a sweet tooth to indulge in. The home-made cakes were kindly donated by the family of a former resident.
After tucking into the scrumptious spread, guests were entertained with a game of bingo, a raffle and tombola. Hotly sought-after prizes included the services of a local decorator, the hire of a hot-tub and a Middlesbrough football shirt and signed football, all donated by local businesses and residents’ family members. A tour of Middlesbrough football stadium was also donated by the club.
The evening rounded off with a disco, which featured classic and contemporary tunes to satisfy all tastes and get everyone up on to the dance floor.
Sally-Anne Lane, Activities Coordinator at Briarwood care home, commented:
“Briarwood was pleased to welcome so many friends, family and community members to our ‘pie and pea’ fundraising event. The atmosphere during the evening was wonderful and everyone really enjoyed themselves.
“We are very pleased to have raised £1,445.15 and would like to thank everyone who donated and helped make the evening a success!”
