Staff at Woodgate Residential Home in Tudeley Lane, Tonbridge, hosted their annual summer fete, raising a huge £600 for The Wish Appeal.

On Saturday 22nd August, the sun was out and the home was full of residents, their families, friends, staff and the local community, who had all come along for some fun and games in the sun and to help the home raise some money.

There was certainly a wide variety of entertainment on offer, from children playing music and visiting guide dogs; to bric a brac stalls to browse and traditional games to play. There was also plenty of tasty food and drink on hand for residents to enjoy whilst they relaxed in the sun with their families.

Lucy Dixon, home manager of Woodgate said: “We are delighted that our residents’ family and friends and the local community came together to support our annual summer fete, it was a lovely day, the weather was great and our residents and guests all had a great time.

“We believe it’s very important for us to be an integral part of the local community and our regular community events help us to achieve this.”

The Wish Appeal is a fundraising initiative created by The Abbeyfield Kent Society, a Kent-based charity and housing association, the appeal aims to grant wishes for residents living in our care homes, whether that is a day at a spa or a trip to their hometown.
