Glasgow Care Homes Raise Thousands From Summer Fetes

Bupa-care industry newsThree Glasgow care homes are celebrating after their annual summer fetes together raised more than £3000 to support new activities for the residents.

Bupa’s Elderslie, Darnley Court and Rutherglen care homes set up various activities and stalls for residents, guests and visitors, including a bouncy castle, tombola and a raffle, with some residents even running their own stalls for the occasion and Rutherglen hosting a 10 piece band to provide entertainment throughout the day.

Val Rough, Manager of Bupa’s Rutherglen Care Home, said: “The fetes were a resounding success, with visitors attending from far and wide.

“We are all thrilled the events managed to raise so much money and would like to thank everyone involved.”

The proceeds will go into the care homes’ activity funds which ensure all residents have access to even more events such as day trips, outings and various other leisurely activities that provide many social benefits.

Finoa Truesdale, Manger at Bupa’s Elderslie Care Home, added “The money raised from the events is a fantastic boost for each home’s activity fund, helping all the residents to participate in new and more enjoyable events and activities.

“At Bupa, we aim to ensure our residents have the best quality of life. Our activities go down a storm with residents so we make sure we put as much emphasis into our summer programmes as possible.

“We are looking forward to planning more upcoming future activities with the funding we have received from the summer fetes.”
