Sue Donley has been appointed human resources director, while Alan Marshall joins as Voyage Care’s first managing director for community services.
A highly experienced HR professional, Sue will take responsibility for delivering Voyage Care’s recruitment strategy and managing employee relations. She will also be looking at ways of enhancing the company’s existing training and development programme, including actively promoting apprenticeships and diplomas.
In his role as managing director for community services, Alan will be tasked with expanding Voyage Care’s supported living portfolio via organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Already a significant part of the business, supported living has been identified as a key growth area for Voyage and Alan will be responsible for ensuring the company adopts a best practice approach.
Commenting on the two new appointments, Voyage Care’s chief executive Andrew Cannon said: “As a business, our aim is to provide exceptional care that meets the specific needs of those we’re supporting. We believe in offering choice and we want to empower people so they can lead happy and fulfilled lives.
“These two appointments will help us achieve this aim and they mark another milestone in Voyage Care’s strategic development. Both Sue and Alan have a wealth of experience which will be a real asset to us and we’re delighted to have them on board.”
A registered nurse and MBA graduate, Alan has worked within the health and social care sector for more than 25 years. Prior to joining Voyage, he worked for Affinity Trust where he held the position of director of operations and quality.
Formerly head of human resources at Priory Group, Sue has been a senior leader of HR teams in health and social care since 2000 and her wider experience includes leading operations and business development.
