May Day merriment at Stocks Hall Ormskirk

A CARE home in Ormskirk, Lancashire celebrated May Day in style with music and entertainment.

Staff and people living at Stocks Hall Ormskirk came together to enjoy the celebration of the Spring festival, May Day.  Wearing their festival attire of flowered headpieces, the lively bunch enjoyed a fun filled afternoon of traditional May pole dancing to music at the home.   Giggling as they weaved the colourful streamers in and around the pole, the merry-makers met at the base and cheered and laughed in achievement of their beautiful plaited pattern of ribbons round the pole.

The celebrations continued as the group enjoyed music, dancing and good conversation.

Gel Ball, Manager said “Dancing around the maypole is a tradition that has lasted through the ages.  It was wonderful to see everyone having such a good time, smiling and enjoying themselves.  Stocks Hall aims to provide the kindest care and fun, memorable activities such as this one are an important part of that.”

The event culminated as customary refreshments were served and it was time to sit back, relax and enjoy a refreshing cuppa of tea.
