Wellington care home, Nynehead Court gave a very special ‘thank you’ to one of the Friends of Nynehead Court, who is retiring after volunteering at the home for over 20 years.
Gill Rose began visiting Nynehead Court when her mother became a resident in 1979, and some years later she became a volunteer at the home. Gill has been an active member of the ‘Friends’, particularly on the Flower Rota, as one of the team who ensures that there is a fresh flower display in Nynehead Court’s entrance every week.
This week Gill and the other Friends of Nynehead Court were treated to a cream team at The Cleve Hotel, Wellington, to thank them for their support. At the tea Alyson Martin, Director of Nynehead Court, presented Gill with a bouquet of flowers.
Home Manager Angela Watkins said, “We are delighted to be able to thank Gill and the other Friends of Nynehead Court for their many years of service as volunteers at the home. I know that the residents value their support as much as we do.”
Nynehead Court offers gracious retirement living for older people requiring residential care or close care housing. Set in 13 acres of parkland, it is registered to provide residential care for 44 people within the Court and close care housing for 11 retirees/couples within the Mews. Within the Court, the newly extended Mulberry Wing caters for those with memory impairment, or in need of greater stimulation, with a higher ratio of staff to residents. At the other end of the spectrum, the 11 close care mews houses provide the opportunity to extend home ownership and live independently, safe in the knowledge that every level of care, support and security is available, when and if required.
