Reydon care home residents benefit from new hair and beauty salon

Oaklands House residential home in Reydon, near Southwold, has officially opened a new hair and beauty salon for its residents to enjoy.

The salon includes comfortable salon-style sinks and seating for hair washing, as well as vanity mirrors, floor-standing hair dryers and a nail bar area, so residents can enjoy having their nails painted whilst having their hair styled.

The salon was officially opened by regional director, Katherine Foley, as part of a special ribbon cutting ceremony. Members of staff, residents, their families and friends also joined the opening and everyone enjoyed tea, cake and refreshments to mark the special occasion.

Hanro Smith, Manager of Oaklands House said, “We are always looking at what more we can do for our residents here at Oaklands House. Having spoken with everyone, we decided to open a new spacious hair and beauty salon. Everyone loves a pamper and now they can do this in the comfort of their own home and with all the modern facilities needed. My team has done a fantastic job in creating the salon – with some modifications, we’ve relocated our laundry, created a new wet-room and been able to create our lovely new salon; it really is a popular addition and I know it will be put to good use!”
