Burlington Care based in Bridlington are delighted to announce that their Bridlington care home Foresters Lodge, St Johns Avenue, which provides care for up to 69 adults and older people who have a physical disability or dementia related conditions has received a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission.
The CQC rates care homes in five areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. Ratings range from ‘inadequate’, ‘requires improvement’, ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’.
The latest report, was produced after an inspection on the 15th November, found the home ‘Good’ in all areas. The Foresters Lodge Manager Lisa Jayne De’Ath said; “This is wonderful news.
“The staff worked so hard to get this result.
“We often hear negative stories about social care and tend to forget that care homes operate around the clock.
“I’m proud of the whole team”.
About leadership in the home the inspection report noted that the registered manager had an open-door policy and was always available for practical and emotional support.”
The CQC inspectors also found that people felt safe and staff had been trained and understood their responsibilities around safeguarding adults and reporting concerns.
Risks to people’s physical and mental health had been identified and guidance was available for staff to manage those risks. The environment and equipment was safely maintained.
Staff recruitment was robust and there were sufficient staff on duty to meet people’s needs. Staff were well trained in basic care and in specialist subjects giving them the knowledge they required to care for people who used the service.
People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.
Richard Hoggart, Owner and Managing Director, Burlington Care said; “This is a fantastic achievement for our staff and 10 years of “good reports” which is a great testament to the great staff team we have”
