Residents at the Chirk Court care home in Chirk enjoyed a visit from the ‘Music in Hospitals’ service recently when harpist Alfair Dyer performed a wide-range of items from classical, folk and Beatles numbers.

“Everyone who attended the event had a wonderful time, it was such a gentle and relaxing sound we all felt uplifted,” said Mandi Southern, Activities Coordinator at the care home, which is managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association.

“Alfair, a Welsh speaker, also performed traditional Welsh pieces and enjoyed chatting with our Welsh speaking residents after the performance.”

The concert was free of charge, thanks to the Music in Hospitals initiative funded by the Scottish Power Foundation.
