Anchor’s Mill View care home residents in Bradford received a Valentine’s Day surprise out of the blue.

All 50 residents were sent their own beautiful red rose courtesy of Morrison’s in Bradford to celebrate the big day.

Anchor’s manager Tee Tatum takes up the story:

‘Our care assistant Lisa Hawksworth has a sister and she works for the Supermarket chain and half jokingly said wouldn’t it be lovely if our residents all received a red rose on Valentine’s Day!

‘The next thing we know is Morrison’s Community Manager, a lovely lady called Joanne Doherty sent round this fantastic box of flowers.

Tee goes on: ‘I cannot tell you what an amazing reaction we received from our residents today when we presented them with the Roses – we had tears of joy, laughter and smiles and receiving the roses prompted wonderful engaging and meaningful conversations over a cup of tea and cake about years gone by and all of the wonderful times spent with loved ones on this special day”.

“Building Links with our local communities and local businesses enables us to work together to ensure our amazing residents continue to experience and enjoy special occasions throughout the year and enjoy happy living for the year ahead.

‘Our own relationship with Morrison’s is already a strong one as they were amongst the first retailers to support our Standing Up 4 Sitting Down Campaign.  Once again our residents would like to thank Morrison’s for the wonderful and very gratefully received gesture’.
