West Midlands care home gets an ‘Outstanding’ CQC result


One of the UK’s up and coming care providers, Gold Care Homes, is delighted to announce that Manor House – one of its homes in the West Midlands – has received an outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).


A new report issued today has revealed that the home based in Kingstanding, Birmingham has received recognition of its ‘outstanding’ care in three out of the five categories assessed by the CQC, including the care provided, leadership and its responsiveness.


The home provides care to adults over the age of 65, including those with dementia and has a total of 37 beds on site. In its previous report, conducted in August 2015, the home was classified as good, but under the current management team it has improved its services to provide a fantastic environment for residents.


Within the latest report the inspectors, led by Maggie Hannelly, Head of Inspection for Adult Social Care at the CQC, said that “people living at the home were extremely happy with the service they received because they felt very safe, comfortable and respected by the staff that supported them.


They added that: “Care was personalised and staff treated people as individuals with the utmost respect; they were exceptionally kind, caring and compassionate, making all interactions count.


“Staff built trusting and supportive relationships with people and their relatives. All of which contributed to ensuring people received an excellent caring service.”


The home’s registered care manager, James Morris, said: “Everyone at Manor House is delighted with this rating from the CQC, as it recognises the fantastic work that all the team do here.


“We work hard to make sure our residents can live in a friendly, safe and engaging environment and we are very proud of what we have achieved in the last couple of years. I would like to say a big thank you to all of the staff who made this achievement possible.”


Andrea Sutcliffe, Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, added: “The quality of care which our inspectors found here was exceptional and I am very pleased that we can celebrate the service’s achievements.


“An outstanding service is the result of a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment. I would like to thank and congratulate everyone involved.”


The Gold Care Homes group which operates in a number of locations across the UK, including sites in Hertfordshire, London and the South East, already has an excellent reputation for providing a wide range of care services.


In fact, so well are its homes regarded that another of its properties, Martins House, was shortlisted for the Hertfordshire Care Awards 2017 for its fantastic leadership abilities.
