Lakeview Rest Homes, which has recently been awarded the Global Nomination of The Best Care Provider in the World 2017, have made a generous donation to a to local charity.
Residents, director Nick Wood and his colleague Ava Makepeace, were delighted to present a cheque for £2000 to Philip Naylor, the Regional Director for the Army Benevolent Fund (A.B.F.) in the North West.
Nick explained, “Each year our residents and staff at Lakeview Rest Homes select which charities they wish to support, and once again the Army Benevolent Fund (A.B.F.) was amongst those chosen. Many of our residents have served, or have friends and family members who have served or are serving, in the armed forces. So this charity is close o their hearts. We are all only too pleased to show our appreciation for all that they do.”
On behalf of the A.B.F.Colonel Philip Naylor thanked everyone and said, “This is a very generous donation from Lakeview Rest Homes. We have a very good relationship with Lakeview and this donation comes from a number of their events held over the summer. This donation will help in our work to support soldiers, veterans and their families, in times of need.”
Money was raised through many charity events including garden parties in Lakeview’s four homes, namely The Moorings, Lakeview Lodge, Newfield Lodge, and Rosewood Lodge. Participation in local community events, such as Lytham Club Day, the St Annes Carnival, Lytham Hall Car Rally and the War Time Weekend also raised further funds.
Director Pete Wood commented , “I am always both delighted and humbled by the generosity of the people in the Fylde. They give so generously, not just money but also their time and commitment. It is thanks to them that we can help others, and we are especially pleased to make this donation to a cause which is dear to us all.”
