Vibrance, a social care provider situated across London and the South East, will be attending the fair, taking place at the Redbridge College Campus on the 7th of November, to demonstrate the range of job opportunities available and answer any questions students may have about working in the sector.
The Careers Fair, hosted at the Redridge College Campus, will provide students with the opportunity to meet organisations, employers and sector skills representatives, engage with a range of different firms and find out what they do and what opportunities they have available.
Paul Allen, Chief Executive at Vibrance, believes events such as these are vital for raising awareness of jobs in the sector with young people and also in tackling the skills gap:
“The social care sector offers young people a wide range of opportunities to develop fantastic skills, work in a rewarding industry and change lives, all while making a good living and we need to ensure as many students as possible are aware of this.
“We are currently in the midst of a social care skills gap. A recent report from Skills for Care found that on any one day there are 90,000 job vacancies in England in the sector. This, combined with an ageing population means that we need to make sure the industry has enough people coming through who can provide the services needed to guarantee people can continue to receive and provide excellent care going forward.”
Allen concluded: “This is why we at Vibrance believe attending events such as the New City College Careers Fair is so important, it gives us a chance to interact with the workforce of the future and help them learn about the social care industry and what chances there are for them in it. Many young people may not know much about the sector or the roles open to them in it, so it gives them the opportunity to meet our fantastic team and ask any questions they may have. We can’t wait to attend the fair and meet the students.”
