A lady from Poringland who devoted quarter of a century to caring for others enjoyed a day of indulgence in London last weekend a part of a special prize.
Retired carer for Manorcourt Homecare, Jan Parslow-Williams was recognised at the Eastern Daily Press ‘Stars of Norfolk and Waveney’ awards last year, and was announced as winner in the carer category at an awards ceremony in December.
Jan worked as a carer for 25 years, and spent many of these with Manorcourt, providing a range of care services to clients in homes across the Norfolk area, being based from the firm’s Brooke office.
Manorcourt Homecare is a division of the Healthcare Homes group and specialises in providing care services for people who wish to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. Jan won a trip to London which she enjoyed on Saturday 16th September, with a tour of the state rooms of
Buckingham Palace along with an afternoon tea in Covent Garden. She took along former Manorcourt colleague Paula Pawsey.
Jan said, “It was such a surprise and an honour to win the award last year. I loved my job dearly which is why I continued with the work for so long and miss my clients and colleagues now that I have retired. “I’d like to thank everyone at the EDP for my wonderful prize, we had a fabulous day out.”
