Team members and residents at a Hallmark care home are celebrating after receiving an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.
The report praised the residential, nursing and dementia home’s team for their ‘exceptional performance’ and out of five key areas reviewed, two of the five were rated ‘Outstanding’ whilst the other three were rated as ‘Good.’
The home was rated as ‘Outstanding’ in the areas of ‘caring’ and ‘well led’ with ‘visible and effective leadership within the service’ and ‘Good’ for its service being safe, effective and responsive.
The unannounced inspection took place took place on 7th June and the report that was published on 14th September said: “People received exceptional care that was personalised to them, taking account of their individual needs and wishes.
“The registered manager was supported by a dynamic management team that demonstrated a holistic approach and had clear oversight of how the service was meeting people’s physical, emotional and social needs.
“Staff were proud to work at Bucklesham Grange and were remarkably motivated and passionate about delivering high-quality care.
“They were also extremely compassionate, attentive and caring in their interactions with people.”
One relative was also quoted in the report, they said: “It is truly a wonderful place. People do come first here. The staff can’t do enough and treat them so well. Nothing is too much trouble. I’ve known them to pop in on their day off to drop things off like a board game or magazine they thought one of the residents might like; very thoughtful and considerate. They are diligent and attentive and treat people with respect and are very very caring.”
