A care service in Gloucestershire where staff go out of their way to ensure people’s wellbeing needs are promoted and respected has been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission following an inspection in June.
Inspectors rated Care-Nursing Alliance Recruitment in High Orchard Street, Gloucester Outstanding for being caring and responsive to people’s needs and Good for being safe, effective and well-led.
Care-Nursing Alliance Recruitment is a homecare agency that provides domiciliary care services to a range of people who live in their own homes. There were 14 people with a variety of care needs, including older people, people living with physical disabilities and children using the service at the time of the inspection.
Deborah Ivanova, Deputy Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care, said;
“We found that Care-Nursing Alliance Recruitment is a service where staff are passionate about providing high quality person centred care.
“People told us how care staff often went the extra mile when providing care and support including assisting with prescribed medicines to ensure they were taken in the right dose at the right time and shopping for specialised food and wine in their own time to ensure the individual’s high standard of living was maintained.
“We heard of one person who was worried about what was happening on their farm. So in addition to the personal care, care staff tended to the person’s livestock, started up the tractor and chopped wood for them.
“Inspectors found that staff had an excellent understanding of the needs and aspirations of the children they supported and found creative ways to enhance their education including working with the school curriculum to understand the child’s learning needs.
“It is clear that the dedication of staff in offering person centred care has contributed to the high quality of care this service gives to its users. I would like to congratulate all the staff for the work that they do in providing an Outstanding service to the people in their care”
