Overbury House residential care home, located in Wroxham, Norfolk, has announced the appointment of Gerard Dooley as its new Home Manager.
Gerard joins the home, which specialises in delivering quality care to elderly adults including those living with dementia, having previously managed a care home where the service was recognised as being ‘outstanding’ in the way the home was led. Having joined Overbury House in June, Gerard is focused on making some positive changes and is aiming to gain recognition for the quality of care being delivered at the home.
Confirms Gerard Dooley: “Before joining Overbury House, I visited to get a feel for the home and was welcomed with open arms by the friendly staff. The home has a lovely warm atmosphere and I am keen to inject my personality and identify inventive and effective ways of further improving the services we provide to the people living in our care.
“I have a proven track record of injecting a positive team culture and morale in the homes I have managed and together look forward to helping Overbury House gain further recognition for the great care being delivered to our residents, each and every day.”
Added Lisa Brown, Regional Operations Assistant at Healthcare Homes group, which operates Overbury House: “We are delighted to have Gerard on board at Overbury House. He has some great experience in supporting elderly and dementia-specialist services and we are sure he will make his mark at Overbury House, working in partnership with both the staff and the residents and their relatives.”
Gerard has been working in the care industry for almost five years and prior to this was in the Armed Forces for seven years, where he was an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Pilot in the Royal Artillery.
