Coming up with a name for a new care home isn’t always easy so Care UK colleagues invited the West Midlands local community to help find a name for its latest new development.
Patricia Jenkins from Bromsgrove took part in a competition to name the new Care UK home which is due to open in her town early next year. The competition called for the people who know the town best, its residents, to share suggestions which had cultural or historical reference to the town.
Patricia came up with Chandler Court, explaining that the surname Chandler originated from candle makers in Bromsgrove.
Patricia JenkinsCare UK regional director, Daniel Turner-Naylor, said: “The home naming process is one of the key milestones for the new home, so it was important to involve the community in the decision. All of the names put forward were of a very high quality, but we felt ‘Chandler Court’ was really original and rooted the home in the local area.
