Herefordshire-based Stanley House, which specialises in caring for adults with neurological conditions, has been acquired by Elysium Healthcare. The acquisition expands Elysium’s neuro division following the purchase of The Badby Group in April 2017.
The sale process was run by top 40 accountants, Bishop Fleming, who worked with the Stanley House owners to find the buyer.
Stanley House was founded in 2006 and has become a leading provider of care to people with complex physical and psychological needs, having a particular specialism in Huntingdon’s disease. The care home will now form part of Elysium’s larger neurological care service across England.
Bishop Fleming’s corporate finance team provided a full Lead Advisory service to the owners of Stanley House with a particular focus on selecting a buyer who would continue the caring ethos of the home into the future.
The firm’s Corporate Finance Partner, Charles Davey, said: “It has been great working with the team at Stanley House and being able to reward the owners for all their hard work in setting up and running the care home over the past 10 years. This is another great example of how we work with owner managed businesses in the region to deliver the right transaction for them.”
Mr. Davey added: “It was important to understand the wishes of the owners, so that the future of Stanley House would be secured in their vision. With Elyisum Healthcare, we found a great long term partner for the company that will take the business on to the next level and maintain and foster the care-centred culture of the home.”
Charles Davey was supported by a Bishop Fleming team providing advice on VAT and Corporation Tax.
The health and social care team at Harrison Clark Rickerbys provided legal advice to the shareholders of Stanley House. Partner, Charlotte Thornton- Smith, said: “We were delighted to advise the owners of Stanley House and to help the business move towards a new future with Elysium Healthcare whilst maintaining the clinical expertise and quality of care which it is founded upon.”
