Stocks Hall Mawdesley Home are delighted that Lilian Scullion is working as a Senior Carer at the Mawdesley Home and delivering personalised CQC tutorial sessions to her peers.

Meet Lilian Scullion.  Lilian first joined The Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group, Agency run division, before taking up her most recent position. She has been with Stocks Hall for nearly three years, currently working as a Senior Carer on night duty at Stocks Hall Living in Mawdesley, Lancashire.  She is currently working towards completing her Level 3 in Health and Social Care

Lilian has been happily married for 22 years with 3 children, all boys aged 16, 9 and 3 years.   Lilian’s working background originated in the Education Sector, qualifying as Nursery Nurse.  She gained several qualifications within the Child Care Sector, eventually becoming NWCS (North West Community Services) Tutor / Assessor and Programme Coordinator.  It was during and after personal family circumstances that Lilian’s desire to work with the elderly increased.

Whilst working on night duty at the Home, Lilian reflected on the CQC Fundamental Standards within The Nursing & Care Sector.  After consultation with the Management Team at Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group she was supported and devised tutorial sessions to pass on to staff to allay fears, dispel myths and give information regarding the Care Quality Commission (CQC).  The CQC are The Independent Regulators of Health & Social Care in England.

Lilian delivers such informative tutorial sessions to small groups within the Mawdesley Care Home, one of six homes in the Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group’s portfolio. She said:

I am passionate about my role. I always want to do my very best to ensure the people entrusted to our care get the Quality of Care that they so rightly deserve.  I am delighted to be able to pass on information in this way and to help people understand the CQC Fundamental Standards more fully.  It is wonderful that I am able to develop relationships with other staff across the Group with a view to sharing best practises.”

Faye Wilkinson, Manager of Stocks Hall Mawdesley commented:  “One of the things I enjoy about my job, is seeing our team develop. I myself was given opportunities to develop in previous roles and I was grateful to the people who allowed me to do this. I am confident that all our staff team have their own unique skills, some don’t realise they have these. It is our job to ensure that we recognize and nurture their development. As a result of this, Lillian has provided the team here at Stocks Hall Mawdesley with an excellent insight to CQC and their fundamental standards. Lillian has also demonstrated her passion for development showing respect at all times for the place in which she works.”

“If you ever meet Lilian you will know it’s her, by her passion, energy and enthusiasm for maintaining Quality Personalised Care throughout the Home. The Group’s motto is Every Person is Valued and we value each and every one of our staff.”

“The CQC tutorial sessions will continue to enhance the Excellent Levels of Care within Stocks Hall Mawdesley Home.”
