Dan Y Graig, which is home to eight adults up to the age of 64, was given a glowing report by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) during a recent unannounced visit.
Inspectors said residents at the home experienced ‘warmth and had positive relationships with staff’ and were treated with ‘dignity and respect’.
The report also highlighted that family members were very happy with the service and that they always felt welcome to visit their loved ones.
The unannounced inspection, which took place in February, made particular mention to the wide variety of activities residents had access to.
People living at the home regularly enjoy attending the local hiking club, swimming, cycling and trips to the nearby trampoline park.
Home Manager Rhyannon Evans said she was delighted that Dan Y Graig Care Home, which is owned by Swanton Care and Community, had received such a positive CSSIW report.
She said: “We have worked hard to create a really warm and welcoming culture at the home so it’s fantastic that was recognised in this inspection.
“We want to help our residents lead the fullest lives they can, to be as independent as possible but with all the care and support they need – that is at the heart of our Service Philosophy at Swanton.
“I want to thank the team here at Dan Y Graig for all their hard work, they really do make this a wonderful place for people leading challenging lives to call home.
“We will keep working hard in the year ahead and continue to develop our service as we strive to offer the highest care and support possible.”
