Battersea Place, London’s first luxury retirement community, had its restaurant transformed into a Parisian parlour last week as potential residents were invited to fill their flutes and help LifeCare Residences to select the new house champagne for 2017.
Set against an array of specially commissioned floral arrangements, with blossoms, hellebores and cyclamens offering a hint of spring, guests were encouraged to sample a selection of three champagnes, before casting a vote on their favourite.
Each provided by Jascots, the Andre Roger ‘Grand Reserve’, the Louis Roederer Brut Premier, and the Pol Roger White Foil – a favourite of Winston Churchill – were all taken into consideration, with the Andre Roger finally being crowned victorious.
While sipping on the selection of bubbles, guests, residents, and staff alike enjoyed an assortment of exquisite canapes, carefully produced by Battersea Place’s first-rate catering team. Throughout the evening, LifeCare Residences donated several cases of wine and champagne to a handful of lucky winners.
