Anya Court was awarded ‘Best Dementia Garden’ and Lifestyle Leader Sarah Savidge took home the title of ‘Best Activities Co-ordinator’ at a glittering ceremony presented by Astrologer, Russell Grant.
Lifestyles Leader at Admiral Court, Sarah Savidge said: “I am absolutely thrilled that I have won this title, it is an honour to work within the Hallmark family of homes.”
“Coming from the hospitality industry, it has surprised and delighted me that I have been able to realise my potential both personally and professionally within the dementia care sector.”
Anya Court’s General Manager, Debbie Allen said: “We can’t express how happy we are to have been awarded this title. Our home has been open for just over two years now, and we have worked really hard to create an outdoor space that can be enjoyed by all of our residents and suit their everyday needs. This award is a testament to all of our hard work.
A panel of judges interviewed Anya Court and Sarah last month along with four other entrants before coming to their decision.
Entrants were judged on features of their garden and activity provision and evidence of how their work benefits residents and their emotional health and well-being.
Anya Court’s garden was also awarded silver at this year’s local Rugby in Bloom competition.
It has landscaped gardens, a greenhouse and modern water feature with a fish pond as its centre piece.
Other outdoor features include a boules court, a fairy tale forest area and a chicken coop.
