Staff at Watling Court hosted a coffee morning at the Extra Care Housing Scheme on Wednesday 28th September, raising £310 for Macmillan.
Tenants, their relatives, staff and friends of the Ifield Way housing scheme gathered in the lounge and dining room on Wednesday, to have a natter, tuck into some tasty treats, whilst raising money for an excellent cause.
All cakes were made or donated by staff of the scheme, the hungry group indulged in a variety of cakes, from ginger and coconut and lime to classic Victoria Sponge and chocolate cupcakes, whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and a natter.
Tenants and their guests were also invited to get involved with a competition, guessing the amount of spots on a cake. Winner, Marie Busbridge, guessed correctly and took the prize, winning an afternoon tea at Tiny Tim’s, kindly donated by the tearoom in Rochester.
Helen Goulding, scheme manager of Watling Court, commented: “This is the second year we’ve hosted a coffee morning for Macmillan and it was a great success again, raising even more than last year.
“On behalf of everyone at Watling Court, I’d like to thank everyone who came along and bought a cake, in particular I’d like to thank the team at Tiny Tim’s Tearoom, for the prize they kindly donated.”
