Cheshire Domestic Assistant wins Student of the Year award

Joan Massey, a Domestic Assistant at New Milton House, the CLS-run care home in Alsager, Cheshire, is celebrating after winning the Student of the Year award in Cleaning and Support Services at the 2016 West Cheshire College Student of the Year Awards.

 

Joan, who has worked at New Milton House since 1999, was named Student of the Year for her work towards her diploma in Cleaning and Support Services, demonstrating high standards throughout observation and going the extra mile in her assignments. 

 

Commenting on her win, Joan said: “I’m extremely proud to have been named as one of West Cheshire College’s Students of the Year. It felt fantastic to be recognised by the college and made me feel like my hard work is valued.”

 

Helen Clark, Home Manager at New Milton House, added: “Everyone at New Milton House would like to congratulate Joan on her award win. She has gone above and beyond while working towards her qualification and should be immensely proud of what she has achieved. It’s thanks to the efforts of Joan and all staff at New Milton House that we can offer our residents the high-quality, person-centred care that our home is known for.”
