New five star care home to create sixty care jobs on Merseyside

yorkshire_bank015A brand new purpose-built care home will open its doors in May next year, creating up to 60 full and part-time jobs for the Merseyside economy, thanks to a multimillion pound development package from Yorkshire Bank.

Damfield Park care home will provide five star luxury care for the elderly, serving the needs of the community in and around Maghull. Owned and managed by Highpoint Care – which also runs a care home in Haydock – the development is being built as part of a new 11acre ‘care village’ site, which will bring a variety of health and educational resources, in addition to lodges and apartments to the area.

Set within tranquil landscaped gardens, Damfield Park is being developed from the ground up and will house top of the range care equipment. This will ensure the home can service the community for the foreseeable future. In addition to the 44 beds, there will also be a hairdressing salon and specialist dementia friendly areas within the home.

The funding package for the development was delivered by Marc De Brabander, Relationship Manager at the Bank’s Business and Private Banking centre based in St Helens.

Alan Whittle, chief executive for Highpoint Care, said:

“Damfield Park’s modern facilities and structured care are designed to enable us to provide top quality services to all residents at all stages of their stay with us. As part of our business plan we’ve made a commitment to ensuring our staff are trained to an extremely high standard so we can provide top quality care for all of our residents.

“Yorkshire Bank has been fully supportive in our vision and is working in partnership to help us achieve our goals.”

Derek Breingan, Head of Healthcare Sector at Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks said:

“Highpoint Care has been providing high quality healthcare in Merseyside since 2013 and the company looks set to continue with their new development in Maghull.

“It is extremely rewarding to know that through our funding, there will be a real and positive impact for the local community and economy, through the creation of a significant number of jobs and the provision of a necessary service.

“As economic conditions continue to improve, Yorkshire Bank remains focused on supporting the growth ambitions of businesses throughout the North West and beyond.”
