New Huntingdon care home to create 70 care jobs


Topping - Mayor PhotoMayor of Huntingdon, Councillor Bill Hensley, recently laid the final roof tile at a new care home in the centre of Huntingdon, Ferrars Hall. The care home, which is being opened in mid-June 2016, is situated behind the police station, will house upwards of 66 residents and will create more than 70 jobs for local people.

Spread over three floors, Ferrars Hall will be registered to provide personalised residential and dementia care in a luxury environment. The home has been purpose built in traditional stone to promote a lifestyle for residents that offers superior accommodation and a high quality of personalised care. The home will boast 66 en-suite bedrooms, a hair salon, a café/bistro, a shop, a cinema room, and numerous lounges and communal areas.

Winners of the prestigious award by Health Investor for residential Provider of the year in 2015, Country Court Care are already established in the East Midlands, with homes in Tallington, Market Deeping, Wisbech and Spalding.

Discussing Ferrars Hall, Managing Director of Country Court Care Alykhan Kachra stated “our philosophy is simple – families and residents are at the heart of everything we do. Ferrars Hall will offer residents beautiful surroundings with the reassurance of outstanding personalised care by our team”

A catering company will be working in the home to offer a fine dining experience and waitress service. There will also be a choice of different menus and all food will be prepared on site from fresh ingredients. Family and friends will be invited to enjoy the experience with their loved ones.
