Phil Smith has joined New Century Care as its Chief Operating Officer.  Phil joins New Century Care after over 10 years at Sunrise, where he was Senior Director of Operations.

New Century Care is investing in strengthening its senior management team to ensure it is well placed to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future.  Care providers across the UK face a range of pressures, from the introduction of the National Living Wage, to regulator fee increases and continued constraints on local authority budgets.  Phil Smith’s appointment as Chief Operating Officer is further evidence of the company’s investment.

New Century Care operates 27 care homes providing residential, nursing and specialist dementia care.  Homes are located across the South East, North East and North West of England, and in Scotland.

Phil Smith, Chief Operating Officer at New Century Care said;

“I’m delighted to be joining the team at New Century Care, at a very exciting time for the company.  This role provides an ideal opportunity to broaden my skillset within the care sector.

“The next year poses some important challenges, not least the introduction of the National Living Wage and the ongoing pressure on local authority fees.  But there will be exciting opportunities for providers too.  I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues at New Century Care to ensure we effectively meet the challenges and make the most of those opportunities.”

Mel Ramsey, Managing Director of New Century Care said;

“Phil’s appointment reflects our commitment to investing in New Century Care’s future. He joins a senior management team focused on effectively navigating a changing market and providing the highest standards of care and support.”
