Award‘The Most Outstanding Care Home Redevelopment in the UK 2015’ was the accolade awarded to Lakeview Rest Homes.

This national recognition for its state-of-the-art care home facility The Moorings at the UK Over 50s Housing Awards, for the second successive year, with Phase 2 of the project scooping accolade to add to its award triumph in 2014.

Organised by UK Over 50s Housing Weekly News, the awards celebrate and honour excellence in the care sector both Nationally and Globally.

The award was presented at a glittering ceremony held at London’s Millennium Gloucester Hotel in Kensington on Tuesday 17th November 2015 in recognition of Lakeview’s £5m investment in the purpose-built facility.

The Moorings was developed in two phases with an ambition to offer 5-star hotel-style accommodation and facilities unrivalled within the UK care sector. With the majority of its en suite bedrooms enjoying panoramic views across the Irish Sea, The Moorings, which opened the doors of Phase Two to its residents in May 2015, provides an indoor bowling/putting green, gym equipment, sumptuous roof terrace, hydrotherapy spa and dedicated games room.

These facilities compliment those offered in the existing Phase One, which are a professional hair and beauty salon, dedicated cinema, Geraldo’s piano lounge, library and restaurant style bistro.

Receiving the award Nick Wood, director at Lakeview Rest Homes, said: “I am proud to have received this award, which is a testament to the hard work involved in the design of the development and indeed the delivery of care to our elderly residents.

“As a family-run business with 28 years’ experience in operating rest homes, we understand what a difficult decision it can be to make the move into a care home, which is why we have worked hard to create facilities that are unrivalled anywhere in Lancashire and indeed the entire North West.

“In creating The Moorings, the brief was clear: we wanted to bring the outside world in to our residents so that they can enjoy life to the maximum. So we worked hard to provide our residents with outstanding facilities alongside the home comforts that make staying here a stimulating and caring experience. To receive national recognition for our efforts is fantastic.”

The Moorings is a flagship care home and is part of Lakeview Rest Homes, an independently owned, family-run group of four care homes including the Rosewood Lodge, Lakeview and Newfield Lodge, all of which are located in Lytham St Annes.
