Acacia Court care home is served up 5 stars for food hygiene

Acacia Court care home-care industry newsThe kitchen team were the toast of Acacia Court care home this week after being awarded a five-star rating in their latest food hygiene inspection.

The home, which is situated on Crawshaw Hill and run by award-winning Meridian Healthcare, which owns over 30 care homes across the North of England, got top marks in the assessment by Leeds City Council this week.

The council’s environmental health department sprung a surprise inspection on the 41-bed home, with the inspector assessing the facilities and questioning staff on their food hygiene knowledge.

Manager of Acacia Court, Mary Usher, said:

“I am so proud of all of my team for enabling us to achieve this excellent rating. Nutrition and hydration plays an important part in life at Acacia Court, so it’s important that our residents and their relatives can have confidence in standards we uphold.

 “We take all aspects of health and safety very seriously and all of our staff receive thorough in-house training and adhere to strict guidelines to ensure our hygiene standards are second to none.”

Situated close to the centre of Pudsey and run by award-winning Meridian Healthcare, Acacia Court provides residential care and support for up to 41 elderly people.
