Cheshire’s Silk FM held a ‘Local Hero’s Award’ at The Dorchester Suite at The Tytherington Club on Friday 16th October 2015. There were twelve awards presented at a prestigious Gala Ceremony on the night. There are thousands of carers across the area and they come in all shapes and sizes – whether it’s a health professional, a family member or friend.
One of the categories was ‘Carer of the Year’, which was won by Hope Green Residential Home’s, Deputy Manager Sandra Wardle. Sandra has worked at Hope Green, in Adlington for 14 Years and was promoted to Deputy in 2012, to work alongside Manager, Jenny Biggar.
Jenny said ‘There are times in our lives when we rely on the dedication, skills and selflessness of others. Sandra was nominated for all the hard work and dedication that she has done to ensure that our residents receive the best possible care. Residents and staff who nominated her are over the moon that she has received this award. ‘
Hope Green Residential Home is located on the outskirts of Poynton, near Macclesfield. The home’s historic two-storey building dates back to the 18th century. It has since been modernised and extended, though it maintains many original details. An exciting new chapter is now starting with a luxurious 11 bed extension, due for completion in 2016.
