Sally Matthews, a Home Services Advisor at Juniper House Care Home in Brackley and Chacombe Park near Banbury has been awarded ‘Home Administration Champion’ at the Barchester Care Awards 2015, an event held in Manchester on 30th September.
Sally was nominated for the award by colleagues and relatives of individuals living both homes. The nominations praised her for her commitment to the happiness and wellbeing of residents and the invaluable support she gives to their relatives during what can often be an emotional and stressful time.
Alison Smith, General Manager at Juniper House said: “We are all so proud of Sally. She really deserves this as such a passionate and empathetic team member who delivers a fantastic service to the community as well as Sally being our Dignity Champion.
On receiving the award, Sally said: “I am truly overwhelmed by the amount of nominations from families and colleagues from both homes. Thank you, I love my job as I see myself as a carer of emotions and advisor to families who are seeking our services. My passion is also dignity and I ensure that every resident is treated with the upmost respect, softly encouraging their independence and building their confidence and self –esteem.
‘Home Administration Champion 2015’ was one of 17 categories at the Barchester Care Awards, an annual event which celebrates staff excellence across the Barchester Healthcare, which employs around 17,000 people and has over 200 homes throughout the UK.
