NorthStar announces phase two of the acclaimed multi-million pound Bedford Citizens Housing Association’s Charter House redevelopment of elderly residential care provision is now underway.
Designed and project managed by NorthStar, construction has begun on 42 self-contained Extra Care apartments that will enable residents to maintain their independence whilst benefitting from the facilities on offer at the now complete phase one 72 bed care home.
A clubhouse building is intended to act as a ‘fulcrum’ between the phase one care home and the phase two apartments, providing facilities for both groups of residents. This concept ensures residents have a wide range of services available on site, including gym, snoezelen, hairdressing salon, and gardens.
Danny Sharpe, Director at NorthStar says: “We’re looking forward to completing phase two in September 2016 and providing residents with the best possible quality of life regardless of their physical or mental ability.”
