Millbrook - New Manager 004The staff and residents at Millbrook Care Centre have welcomed a new Manager to the home recently, following the appointment of Odette Wilson at the village care home.

Whilst Odette is a new face at Millbrook, she is well known within Meridian Healthcare, having worked for the company for more than ten years and gaining a wealth of experience along the way. She started as a Care Assistant back in 2004, before progressing to become an Acting Senior, Senior, Deputy Manager and eventually Manager at Fir Trees in Dukinfield, where she led her team to winning a North West care award in 2014.

These achievements are all the more impressive as Odette started her career straight out of school as a secretary and had to give up work altogether to care for her terminally ill father. It was this experience that inspired her to look into care work after she realised that she was passionate about looking after people.

Odette said:

“I’m thrilled to have been appointed to take up this exciting role. Millbrook is such a beautiful home with a fantastic team and I’m thoroughly looking forward to getting to know all of our residents and members of the local community.

Meridian Healthcare have been extremely supportive in enabling me to develop my skills and progress through the company and I can’t wait to get started!”

Away from work, Odette, who lives in nearby Denton, is actively involved in a number of community groups including her local Girl Guides and local church.

Situated at the heart of Millbrook village, Millbrook provides residential care and support for up to 46 elderly ladies and gentlemen. Run by award-winning Meridian Healthcare, the home is one of six in the company’s Premiere Collection.
